Cover of Every Rose Has Its Thorn

This was done in one take. There’s a couple of mistakes in here, but they’re not too bad. It’s hard to play without mistakes when I know I’m recording.

I’ve been focusing on dynamics lately - hopefully that shows in this one…

Feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I really enjoyed that Wayne. Sounded pretty close to the original and if there were some mistakes then I didn’t spot them. Good stuff :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Agree. That’s always the case. The guitarist who has practiced the song 100 times always hears every bum note, the casual observer never spots it. I thought it sounded great.

Nice one Wayne.
Your work on dynamics is paying off mate. :+1:

Good stuff @6StringKiwi - nice steady strumming and i didn’t spot any mistakes. My wee boy is sitting next to me at the moment and he was nodding along to your playing! I’m being picky in looking for something to further improve, but I’ll give you the same advice as I always get - don’t be shy with the singing. You’re way better than me but i felt at times you could’ve added a bit of volume/emphasis.

Hi Wayne,
That work pays off :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Keep on going and have a lot of fun in the meantime and during further playing :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Enjoyed your playing. I find it so hard to strum in time with the song and sing. Well done

Hey Wayne,
Nice cover, good vox and play. Pretty good mix, maybe a tad thin on the vox in places. That might be the dynamics you are working on though. At any rate, good stuff and effort!

Be well,
LBro

Thanks for that feedback. It’s pretty wild that you guys can’t spot the mistakes - they are glaringly obvious to me, but I guess I know what I was trying to do and when I missed the mark

Thanks

This is my third take - I messed up the others right near the end. So I think I was lacking a little energy on this one.

I also tried to go softer at the start (as the other take seemed like it started too strong), but then I guess I didn’t ramp it up enough aftewards.

Yeah it was at least partially from that. I’m finding it pretty difficult to get the dynamics right over the course of an entire song.

Hello Wayne :slightly_smiling_face:

That was an awesome performance! I enjoyed it a lot

Great playing/strumming and singing - and great dynamics :+1:

I can imagine myself sitting at a campfire or on a porch, relaxing and listening to this beautiful song :guitar:

Mistakes? Of course I’m no expert to comment on that. But I listened closely since you’ve mentioned them, and I didn’t spot the slightest one. I’ve just enjoyed the song and your performance.

Thanks a lot for sharing :sunflower:

Well played and sung Wayne. Don’t mention mistakes as then everyone listens out for them as you can read in the posts above!
Well done.

Well done!

I really liked this Wayne. Well done! I also didn’t notice any mistakes. I can tell you’ve been working on the dynamics.

Hi Wayne,

“It’s hard to play without mistakes when I know I’m recording.”

Never goes away. Red light pressure gets me every time - even the most simple of things.

Thought the guitar part sounded really good. Nice dynamics and timing.
Vocal isn’t the easiest, but thought you did a good job.
