Hi all.
Here’s me trying to do Johnny’s version of Hurt. Any feedback is welcomed.
I’m not sure what’s going on with my mic, it randomly glitches (as you’re hear in the video). Any ideas on how to solve that would be appreciated - it’s a USB mic, but a decent one.
From an improvement perspective, based on the video which can be deceiving, I would view it and notice the distance of your finger from the third fret for the C and D chords. If the camera doesn’t lie then you could try and get those fingers a little closer.
All I can suggest on the mic is firstly make sure that nothing else is running and competing for CPU time when recording. Just the software used to record the video.
Whatd do you use?
Secondly, do some research on audio drivers. If you are using the operating system default you may find some better options. Maybe a universal ASIO driver? But I am NO expert.
Lastly, again research how to optimise the setup for audio. You may find there are some settings you can tweak to get better performance. Again, I can’t make any suggestions.
Great work Wayne - it can’t be easy keeping the time and the groove when then song contains those musical pauses at various points - well played!
About the audio glitches, not sure if you’re on Windows, but on my Windows laptop I was getting occasional audio glitches. I found it useful to look at the Windows Event Viewer to see which events coincided with the glitches, and then google around for advice relating to those events.
