One thing to experiment with is playing the chorus louder than the verse. The vocals are a little louder but not the guitar. Maybe even change up the strumming pattern in the chorus to be a straight u d u d u d u d. In other words, a little more rockin’

Thanks so much for the listen and feedback guys. I take your points on board but my recording technique is most basic. My iPhone. If I play the guitar more loudly it drowns out the vocal and if I try to sing above it I feel like I’m shouting. I try to balance it all as best I can.
