This is some fun scale practice where I follow the pentatonic scale in A but with the D#. Could we call that the (a?) blues scale?emphasized text

You would conventionally call it Eb - the flat 5 note.

Eb and D# are the same - enharmonically equivalent - but the naming convention is context driven.
Yes, minor pentatonic + b5 = blues scale.
