Hi All, long time without any recordings from my end, so I decided to make something simple and sweet to get warmed up before the next OM (Which definitely is not going to be short and sweet for those interested! )!
Song that consists of mostly 5 chords, with extra A shaped barre chord in intro and a very strange inversion of an C#m chord, which is tricky to change over to smoothly (as heard in the intro). Anyway, simple recording, didnāt want to faff around too much with retakes, so all goodies and baddies included! Enjoy and let me know your thoughts!
Btw Justin should totally cover this song and change it to a lesson. Iām sure lots of Grade 3+ would be interested in learning it
Really enjoyed that Adi! Thought you did an exceptional job on the vocals! Nailed the vibe of the song, sounded great to me!
That stretch on that C#m looks tough! And given that you had some challenges with it says a lot!
Great stuff as always, Adi, and fabulous to have you back recording again! Always a treat for us!
Hi Adrian,
Nice song and nice rhythm guitar and certainly an exercise for us that Justin could teach ā¦ wonderful vibe when you play and also very well sung
I also liked this one a lot. You gave the song such a nice vibe with your playing and singing. Plus one for Justin turning this into a lesson. It would surely be a nice song to learn at some point in the future
Nice one Adi, great performance, ā¦ and welcome back ! ā¦
Iāll emphasise the word āperformanceā because that was so much more than āhereās a song wot Iāve learnedā
You really got your strumming into the groove. Granted not many chords, but great songs rarely have more than 4 at their core. Your chord changes were smooth and hit the ā1ā, making for a very confident performance.
We all get āred lightā syndrome but you powered yourself through here.
That C#m-chord looks like a killer. What a stretch, but I think you handled that beast quite well.
I thoroughly enjoyed the listen. You really caught the vibe and both playing and vox was really good, the higher register in second vocal was really impressive. Great overall delivery, looking forward to more and great having you back on the OM, too!
John, Jeff, Rogier, Nicole, Collin, Jeff, Bytron, Jenn, Ruraidh, Lisa - many thanks for nice comments! Appreciate the listen!
Yeah Iām fortunate enough to have long fingers haha! Itās like a C chord really, but you have one fret gap between fingers 2 and 3. Biggest challenge was to learn how to land it properly, and itās still not perfect, but getting there
I will never forget when RHCP popped up on MTV in the 80s with the song real men dont kill coyotes. All my metal friends were like these guys suck and are total freaks. But I knew that they were amazing and I fully got into them when āUplift Mofo Party Planā came out. RHCP is one of the greatest bands of all time. The fact that John Frusciante is with the band again still stokes me so much.
I really really enjoied that song, I dont know why I sort of forgot about stadium arcadium. It unfortunatly was not recived well by many core RHCP fans, but this has always been a fantastic song and perfect for guitar.
Thanks for a great upload.
My humble opinion is that you sang and played it fantastically. I enjoyed it a lot. Thanks for the upload
Jason - thanks man. I appreciate your words of encouragement in my opinion Stadium Arcadium is one of their best albums ever made. It was a double album and there isnt many albums overall I enjoy listening from top to bottom every song, and that one definitely is. This song is probably one of the easiest from Johnās skilled fingers, but man what a fun one it is!
Hi Adi,
Good to see and hear you back at the 6 string, doing your thing!
Nice tones on your guitar, great play and nice vox. We are even treated to a new camera angle. At least to me as you normally shot in the corner if memory servesā¦
