I find it really frustrating that the web based desktop learning experience is so different from the app on my phone. It should be seamless but the difference is alarming. I prefer to have the larger screen of my laptop open but the way this designed forces you to have 2 devices open. Any plans to integrate it in a seamless manner?
Hi Tom, nice to meet you and you are in a great place coming here cheers HEC
Tom, I am sure this question and many like it have been asked before, and as you learn to navigate the community, you will probably find a whole topic on this subject, but in short, they are both entirely different learning platforms, I think I am right somebody will explain better soon cheers HEC
What is the difference you speak of and why 2 devices?
Hi Tom, welcome to the community
I totally understand what you mean. It’s nice to watch the videos on a large screen. A few years ago, the app and the website had similar learning experience, with the exception of the karaoke play-along mode.
Now, they seem to have put a lot of development into the app to provide a premium learning experience. Each of Justin’s video is cut into 1-2 minutes smaller segments and there is an interactive exercice and a song to play after the short segment.
That seems cool. But, yeah, I would feel lost too when trying to work with the app and the website at the same time.
I don’t know how comfortable you are with technology ? But, a solution that could help you is that most phones have an option called “Screen sharing”. It mirrors your phone screen to your smart TV or sometime even some computer. I tried it with my phone & TV and I could watch the app on my TV.
wow Mathieu, cheers for that brilliant explanation, I didn’t know that cheers Hec
Thank you for all the kind replies! I would be the first to concede that my post is a bit on the pointless side. The only one that can address it would be the developers for the website or bigger fish up the food chain. I do mirror my laptop and my phone to my TV but the frustration arises in how the platform is deployed differently on different devices. I would also be the first to commend Justin on his genuine concern for students and his excellent presentation in his lessons. His whole personality is just outstanding and probably a reason why Justin guitar is so popular. You want to buy him a puppy or just wish him the best that life can bring. Coming from a background in music and technology, I feel confident I’ll find a solution that works… I just have a genuine interest in seeing Justin guitar be as successful as possible and was curious about the diverging approaches on different platforms. Thank you all for the helpful and patient responses! Have a great day!
Outstanding answer! You made the poster feel like he wasn’t a complete waste of time and offered some useful insights, as well. I hope an absolute stranger comes up to you and buys you a pizza today (if you like pizza) or Elon Musk leaves you in his will. Thanks again!
