Do people sing with electric guitar?

I play an electric while singing and I do fingerpicking on it. Does that count?

I confess, I don’t know Johnny Dowd, though recognised it as one of the artists that Brian has mentioned before. But when Gordon declared it to be awful I had to take a listen.

I didn’t find it awful.

With just a looper and an amp without an Fx loop, I am limited in layering, sound-scaping options, but every now and then crank up the gain on a overdriven amp voicing with loads of reverb and delay. I too can then make an awful noise with just single notes plucked and some string scraping … such fun. You should give it a try Gordon … maybe when the missus is out with her friends.

The vocal reminded me of something I could imagine Jim Morrison delivering with the hypnotic background of the The Doors.

You could check out JJ Cale - very easy listening
