Trying to kill three birds with one stone on this one …
Working on dynamics. Intentionally picking a simpler solo to learn just to work on feel and dynamics.
Another piece to practice transcribing. I liked it when I heard it, but I found no tutorials on this or any tabs, really, so I thought – Bingo! – exactly the type of thing that’s meant to be transcribed by ear.
Another thing to record myself and put it up online. I still hate recording myself, but I never get to play with other people, and I read that this approach might be a good alternative.
I’m not familiar with this, but it sounded great and kudos for transcribing it too.
I think most people find recording themselves difficult, but that’s what makes it so valuable. You get to hear all the things you don’t notice while playing.
Playing with others is a game changer, I’d encourage you to look for local jamming groups or open mics. Or even start a jamming group if there really isn’t one near you. I live in a smallish town and I’ve been amazed at the number of jams/groups/OMs etc that are around if you start digging.
Hello Andrey. After listening to your piece I can say you’ve hit numbers 1. & 3. of your aims admirably. Number 2, transcribing, I can’t comment on not knowing the original, however what you played was very listenable. Good work!
