E Shape Sus4 Chords

Hi - I am a bit confused.
Wouldn’t it be kind of easier, just to do a mini bar with the ringfinger? It is basically the same position as the A-Shaped Major chord, just one string deeper.

It seemed kind of obvious to me, so i am not sure, why justin did not point this out? Maybe I understood it wrong. Thanks guys!

I haven’t seen the video, but I’m guessing he’s playing with middle, ring, pinky fingers?

I guess this is to facilitate the change to E and back. Just like with Asus4 and Dsus4, songs also feature E - Esus4 or Esus4 - E changes (I can think of two Neil Young songs that do this: “Out On the Weekend” and “Needle and the Damage Done”. All you have to do is put down or lift up your pinky on the G string.
