TIL of the existence of Guitars Over Guns and how Eddie Vedder worked with their Chicago chapter to write a new song Better Believe that was performed at the opening of the Obama Presidential Center. Two thumbs up to Eddie for taking on this project.

That performance was posted in the “What are you listening to” section, yesterday or the day before. I love how you can see how he would look over and give each student their cue to start their section, it didn’t go as planned each time but I think they recovered just fine. As Justin teaches us keep the rythem and most people won’t notice or care if they do.
Anyone who offering music, arts or reading to those who do not have the resources are really heros. Obviously when you are one of the legendary front men of the 90s you get the attention of ex presidents, but its something we can all do to be honest.
My mother used spend time collecting musical instruments and art supplies for under developed areas and school. Anyone can do this, and make a direct contribution to their own community. Things that do not take a lot of effort from us, can make a incredible difference in someone else’s life.
Eddie Vedder does a lot, we are both members of the Surfrider Foundation and have been at functions at the same time, although he brings in a lot more money and clout than I do.
