Don’t have a cutout, any alternatives for the intro and outro, as I can’t get near 15th fret ! .

Justin suggests playing the G chord an octive lower around the the 12 minute mark of the video. You could substitute any invertion of a G triad on the e B and G strings but you’d lose the open e. You could also play a double stop to keep the open e

I learned this into from a book, here’s the tab:

It uses a standard triad shape on the top 3 strings, plus the open D string. E.g. for the D chord (1st bar) xx0775. It also adds a bit of melody (xxx777). If you learn the 1st bar, then it’s just a matter of moving it to fret 7 and then fret 10.
