I have been trying to get an electric for some time now but can’t choose the right one. My question is should I choose a guitar pack or buy it all separately?

A good, definitive answer to your question is…
It Depends! 
Many of the guitar packages out are aim at people brand new to guitar who aren’t 100% sure if they’ll stick with playing. So the price is really attractive but often the quality suffers. Also, even assuming that you find a package deal that seems to be a relatively good quality product, it might not be what you really, really want. Like when you go to a restaurant & the combo plate is priced right but you don’t like all the different foods on the plate… a la carte is more $$$ but you get exactly what you want!
So budget is a big factor. Can you afford to buy what you want separately?
Plus, there’s how it looks & sound To You. If your idea of a beautiful guitar is a shell pink Fender Jaguar but the closest thing you can find in a package is a black Squire Strat… you might not be inspired to practice & play like you would with the Jag.
Best thing to do is “window shop” until you know what you think is a good looking & good sounding set up… lots of info & reviews online, figure out what you can afford & then go to a brick & mortar store to see how they feel!
When you see “the One”, you will probably know it!!!

Oh, one thing that might help you decide is to check out what gear your favorite guitar players use… the type of guitar that he/she plays might help you to narrow the search!
