Englishman in New York

This is my attempt at Englishman in New York by Sting.
Much inspired by @LievenDV version on an OM recording and also @Richard_close2u nephews at a live OM both great performances.
It’s been 6 years since I picked up a guitar for the 1st time and started learning with Justinguitar. Playing guitar is now something I very much look forward to doing everyday. Thanks for watching.

Excellent cover of a terrific song. You handled the tricky guitar rhythm really well and your singing was good too. If you played just a little slower it might help eliminate the odd vocal phrase that sounds slightly rushed. Very enjoyable.

Love how you made it your own!
And awesome to hear I helped to inspire you

Thanks Brian. I think the performance/recording anxiety contributed to the speed of delivery. Appreciate the feedback. Best wishes Alan

Thanks Lieven.

Good job Alan. The rythym is evocative of the original.

Hi John, thanks for your kind words. Best wishes Alan

Nice job, Alan! I like your version. And I also always have a recording anxiety which messes with the speed. You’re not alone

Thanks Oleg, much appreciated. Tempo, relaxing and savouring a performance are things I need work on instead of rushing. I’m not a confident or natural singer so that doesn’t help.
