Enough of that same D Chord

does anyone know what strumming pattern Justin is doing in this clip?

Can you post a link to the video in question?

Hey @MarkRiches, I think Justin varies it slightly the three times he plays it, but I’m mostly hearing this 2-bar pattern (I think):

1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 +
D   D U D U D U   U D   D U D U

I’m happy to be corrected by anybody with a keener ear and/or sense of rhythm.

Hi jjw1 thank you

@MarkRiches
Hi Mark. The whole point of this lesson is to experiment with the D chord. That also means experimenting with different strumming patterns to find out what suits the sound you want.

Justin isn’t expecting you to copy exactly the strumming pattern he’s using. He wants you to use your ears and explore.

Hi I understand the lesson was about experimenting, I am very new to playing guitar and I was blown away by how good it sounded.
