Has anyone seen the new Epiphone Futura series?
So many good guitars around these days…

I’ve read about them in guitar mags but haven’t seen them for real yet. Perhaps for the best, they look good!

I understand that in order to differentiate they need to make some newer body styles. Personally, there is nothing I like about the newer shapes.

I did really like the color schemes on the Widow line they made last year.

It’s not a new body style it’s a copy of the Gibson Firebird( which came out in 1963) with a few tweaks

My word… Would you look at the finish on those beauties… (is that a kind of mother-of-pearl?)
That’s something you’d pay your bodyshop extra for to have that on your car.
Now they’re throwing it on guitars too… And for that price?
I think i hear something screaming in my wallet… :laughing:

But no, not this time. I’ll calmly wait (if there’s such a thing) until i can get my hands on an SG to get a proper look and feel.

That’s for sure. I see a new one I like every week. Not too keen on that one you just posted a photo of. I think you posted a photo of a Gretch recently and that was nicer IMO. For me, at the moment, I love the latest batch of Reverend guitars that came out at the last NAM. However, I’m enjoying my Ibanez AR420 so much that I haven’t had any real GAS since I got that.

This is my favourite Epiphone series. I don’t own an Epiphone (or a Gibson :grin:). There’s a lot that goes for it though: stainless steel frets, locking tuners, ebony fingerboard, coil splits, and that impressive iridescent finish.

Lol :grin:. It’s a melted Iceman. I really like Dali, so this is right up my street. It’s a shape from the 70s which they’ve brought back. It’s like a way in between an Explorer and a Firebird. I like that it’s 25.5" scale length like Fenders, so it handles drop tunings better.

Prices will probably go down over Christmas. Might give it a thought then.

I’ve been drooling over them since the first showcase at NAMM. How bad I want that green-blue Explorer, definitely the best guitar out of the range for me.
