Ever wondered what Marty McFly was actually playing?

Some guy did this thing and it’s awesome. If anyone started playing guitar because of Marty McFly, you’re probably already there!

Marty traveled back to 1955. The Gibson ES-345 didn’t come out until 1959.

Oh, and I knew what you meant by “actually playing.” Funny stuff, but I doubt he was actually plugged into an amp.

He played an Erlewine Chiquita too but we didn’t get to hear too much of that.

The obvious question to me is who is Marty McFly? Not googled it yet!!

He was the lead character in a movie called “Back to the Future” that was made back in the past.

Maybe he grabbed it as he went through 1959 to get to 1955.

 :joy: We’re in the same age bracket, Mark. If I made you feel old, it’s because I was feeling old. Haha

I play my electric all the time without being plugged into an amp. Late night practice…

I wasn’t around prior to 1972, nor have an interest in certain films, but I would still recognise the names of iconic cinematic characters and actors from the days before my time e.g Dorothy Gale, Scarlett O’Hara, Rick Blaine, the Corrleone family.

Can’t believe Marty McFly has passed people by! :flushed:

Agree! I really didn’t think it would need an explanation but happy to provide one!
