Fast Car by Tracy Chapman Lesson

Wow! I’ve been learning this song the last couple of months, gaining some mastery of this extremely evocative version of this beautiful song, sung by the wonderful singer who accompanies Justin. All of a sudden it’s gone, replaced by a new version. I’ve only listened to it once because I felt something ripped from me. Maybe my feelings will mellow. Maybe this is a lesson learned about online learning.

Hi Fred @Paperback_Writer
Welcome here and I wish you a lot of fun :sunglasses: and

it is always a good thing to read what is written under the videos, (learn more button) things are sometimes explained in detail there and/or in this case you can find that Justin’s first version is still there… you can listen to it again in the future

 The first time I released this song was back in 2018! You can watch the original tutorial here.

Greetings,Rogier

Oh, that’s really good to hear. I do acquaint myself with the different tabs, and the information they provide, but somehow missed that. I feel an odd, but strong, sense of relief :).

I just paid for the tabs and they are not worth bothering with, Fast Car is just the words with a letter above which is the chord but lacks all the information needed to play,
The video actually shows the tabs I want, no idea what I paid for.

Welcome to the community

Edited in light of Judi’s post …
The tab is there, if you click where ut says Chords | Tabs

Hi Rich, welcome to the community.
There are two “tabs” on the Tabs page, one shows just the chords, the other shows the full tab. Granted, the tab presentation differs by song. But for this song as you know, the riff repeats through most of it, with the strummed chorus appearing between some verses. The Tabs tab has all the info for this song. For an example of a more complex song with a more complex Tab, see Wish You Were Here.
