Feel Good Strumming

At this point in your journey, use a thin pick.

Thanks but I’m moving to module 7 full-time soon (meaning that I’m on module 6 but slowly getting the lessons of module 7). I’m gradually using thicker picks, I’m not a full beginner (well I’ll always be a beginner no matter the Grade ). Thicker picks is good for picking individual strings and also ā€œenablesā€ the dynamic.

What about the fingers? I suppose this skill is useful for it but it’s better to practice with a pick?

If you feel comfortable playing with a thicker pick, then there’s no reason why you shouldn’t. Find the one that feels best to you for the music you want to play. As for finger strumming versus strumming with a pick: there’s no ā€œbetterā€, all depends on what and how you want to play.

I suppose this exercise requires the right pick since it’s purely about having the right feeling when strumming, no music related. Thin and thick picks are different. Same idea with fingers strumming, I think it’s more of a pick thing, at least on the beginning. But please correct me if I’m wrong

The answer is the same: find the one that feels best to you.
