I would like to say I am still growing and I am thankful for this community that “formed” me in many ways. Even in this days I use Justins platform for paid part Music Theory Course.
Last weeks I had little rut… maybe caused by dentist who took off my 8th and 7th tooth at the time.
So one day I just sat down not trying to challenge myself and let my fingers do the stuff… and I created this sweet little melody and I am proud of it. I am slowly getting to the stage where I always wanted to be. Being free to play something from my mind. It just happen.
Little part of that is reminding me a song I dont know the name and I did not hear it years… anyone know which one it could be?
Wow Michal! It sounds just great! So smooth and relaxed! You can well be proud of your “creature”…it sounds like it’s alive and breathing with you!
I don’t know where is precisely the stage you want to be, with time, dedication and love for learning I’m sure you’ll get there; honestly from what I see and hear in the video you seem to be in a place you feel very comfortable and much at your ease!
Thank you for sharing your progress, it’s a real pleasure to follow it!
Ps: I’ve been to the dentist too last week and has been awful!
@Silvia80 Thank you, Silvia. The comfortable part is really important and really true… all these things are something I bumped in on my journey and somehow my fingers like to do them in this connected way, so I got more space to connect “my inner feel” to the sound. Of course there are few technique mistakes and this video is great for that too, I can see it and work on that.
I can see when I go on neck for higher notes I tend to move my head closer, because it feels more intimate… the notes are really moving with me, if it makes sense.
Well I have really bad teeth, so there is lot of work to keep them.
@Beatup6String Thank you very much. I love the smoothness from G to C and melody notes really fit to me. Also there is part of G where I prepare fingers to strange position so I can move to C.
So lovely and impressive, Michal. I enjoyed it so much, that I went back and listened to some of your other posts. It seems you have done quite well in your learning progress. Keep them coming, please!
Your well executed slaps really add a nice percussive sound and are great for solo guitar. And you’ve created a nice melody as well. I enjoyed it - thanks!
@pkboo3 Dear Pamela, thank you for such a nice words and putting time into digging more about my journey.
@milesotoole123 Thanks a lot Nathan, great idea, but I am still advanced beginner and this came from me more like… inspiration and I dont have ambitions to put lyrics into that. Right now I cant expand it to more parts like verse or bridge… I just cant, but I am pretty sure I will get back to it and it will click. I like to tell words with melody lines more than singing.
@Just_Dan Thank you Dan, since I explored this style I tend to put it everywhere, because I just like percussive element. Right now I am working on intro for Let Her Go and first thing I tried here was to use all chord shapes with slap and it works.
