I the endless possibilities of my Pod go, even if I hardly ever touch the controls.
I went on a rare tone-hunting expedition today and got side-tracked down the tube…
For anyone interested, there are 8 ‘blocks’ that you can rearrange in order and change the settings on.
6 are predetermined (vol, wah, EQ, amp, pre-amp and FX loop)
4 you can choose yourself (modulations, reverb, delay, pitch, comp etc)
I came across a hack where you can export a preset, delete the text referring to the preloaded block, and re-import the new file with a new free block that you can assign as you wish.
e.g. I never use the fx loop, so got rid of that, and the volume pedal block is unnecessary, as you can assign the ‘level’ control in the EQ block to the foot pedal on the Pod Go.
That’s 2 extra effect blocks at your disposal
Caveat:
It does not increase the pedals processing power, so depending on the fx you choose, you may run out processing power. (i.e. some of the resource-intensive fx will show as grey and cannot be selected)
As you’re only overwriting presets and not messing with the inner workings of the machine, I don’t see how it could interfere with the functioning of the Pod Go itself.
Here’s a link to the video I followed, and it seems to work fine
