Fretting hand

I just had a question regarding my fretting hand,

I’m curious how i should angle my wrist and how much i should push my elbow forward. i seem to be getting the hang of it but i find when i change cords i need to adjust the angle sometimes, is that normal? and is it normal to not have the exact same hand angle/position.

If your wrist is ending up in weird / uncomfortable positions then you might be doing something wrong.

It could be that your playing position is to blame - in my case it certainly was because I was playing on the sofa and my hand/wrist position improved once I was sat upright in a proper chair. For certain chords my wrist ended up at a very odd angle before I made the switch

Obviously I have no info about whether you’re playing seated / standing and if you are seated then no info about your posture so I might be way off the mark

Hi Christian, I am almost certain Justin has lessons on this exact matter it might be worth looking, and it is very nice to meet you cheers HEC

What type of chair are you sitting in? Directly related to what matt said. Changing my chair changed how I olayed for the better it took me months of pain and torture to get that understanding.

Welcome Christian. As Hec mentions Justin does have a lesson.

One thing to remember if at any time you start to feel pain while playing then stop. Give you hand a rest, otherwise it could become serious over time.

Enjoy the journey.
