Thanks, Dominique, I don’t like pondering on it but I had a simple serious accident two years ago work-related, and I have had a wonderful fulfilled life, worked trained and wanted for nothing so I find myself retired and lots of time on my hands, so I do not mind at all I enjoy helping its good mate cheers HEC :+1:

Oh, I am sorry for that! I hope that you’re having the best possible time you can! And well, yes, helping others is often giving a great reward when you make someone happy!

By the way, what did you do with the cavities of the middle and bridge pickup? Did you fill them somehow?

Hi Dominique, yeah the guitar was in a right old mess so a lot of prep went into it, wooden blocks fitted and all three knob positions filled with wood etc. You can just see them on the photo, I am busy making an acoustic at the moment, and that is hard that is how I meant the clueless luthier I asked for his help months ago he has made some really nice guitars, and the rosette I made for mine is made up of 15 pieces of wood and took me 2 months to eventually make it and fit it, I think it will take me another year to finish it, :weary:

An acoustic! Wow!
I am going to build an electric, but I consider it simpler - at least you don’t have to get the vibrations and resonances right! Do you build from scratch or did you get a kit?

I have so much respect for projects like that!
I only have simpler projects (and they are on my mind for a long time and I am slow to realise them), like getting my grandpa’s russian banjo in good shape and replacing the top of a cheap ukulele kit with a nice spruce top. The top from the kit didn’t have any braces! Maybe in a soprano that could have worked, but in a tenor? A few of the projects are half done

If it’s not too much additional work, me and definitely a few others would be happy about images and your experiences!

Best regards,
Dominique

It is all from scratch and all by hand and hand tools I am just on with the front sanding it down to 2.5 mm it’s a long process, but worth it in the end I hope, if you need any advice with your build just give me a shout no probs
