Just had a listen to the original song on YT and can’t work out what is being played compared to the lesson. Just not hearing it!!
Watch this and you might find it easier, what they’re doing is a single MUTED strum on the off beat, the other thing that they may be doing is playing the A D & E chords as E shape and A shape Barré chords starting at the 5th fret, this explains the higher voicing. Thanks for that. The barre chords are not something I can achieve at this time (struggling with the F chord at the moment) but may be in time. The chap in the second video makes it look very easy!
