Girl From The North Country

Thank you, Toby.

Thanks Dean. Yes, this was released in '63 on Dylan’s The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan. I’m also a Waylon fan (one of my tracks on here is a cover of his Waymore’s Blues, and I’ve been toying with the idea of recording a cover of Bob Wills Is Still The King), but I don’t recall hearing his cover of this. I’ll have to seek it out.

Yeah, I suspected that might be the case. Too bad. I have a Boss Acoustic Singer Live amp which is relatively small and easy to tote about. Do you think that would work okay for a uke bass? A little concerned that the frequencies wouldn’t be right for the speaker, etc., and wondering if I’d need an actual bass amp for a uke bass.

Yeah, I think that it might push it too much, my Blackstar BEAM is ideal as it’s designed for Bass, I don’t use it to practice, just if I want to record it or jam.

Well done, that really suits your voice

Yeah; I wouldn’t put a standard elec. bass through it, so I guess there’s no reason a uke bass would be any different as far as that goes.

Thanks, Tony.

Hi Jason, just found this. Wow! Love your version - so well played and sung, and I love the extra sprinkles you have added - the base runs and the strums every now and then. I don’t hear them in the original version but I love how they add more texture to the guitar part.

Whoa, blast from the past! (Although I guess all my recordings are “from the past” since I haven’t recorded anything in a long time.)

Thank you, Molly and Viv. I appreciate it!
