With two fresh inches of snow on the ground, it feels like warm weather is still so far away. Maybe it’s time to relocate!
Actually, cold, dark Montana winter nights is what made me decide I needed a good indoor hobby. So, I borrowed one of my dad’s G&Ls (he’s a Ventures nut) and signed up for the JustinGuitar app. Now, a little over a year later, I’ve returned the G&L and bought Jolene, a feisty red PRS CE. I play most days and love it more and more the better I get – I guess I’m hooked!
I’ve also returned to listening to music I hadn’t listened to for years, and with new ears. It turns out “Classic Rock” now encompasses 80’s and 90’s rock (my first concert was Pearl Jam when I was 15) along with 60’s and 70’s – which makes me feel old (or maybe just classic?), but at least the rock radio stations are great. So I guess I’m a “Classic Rock” player, though I also love old country songs. I long to play like Randy Rhoads, or maybe Mike McCready. I guess I’ll just strumming away and watch the snow keep falling…
Hello Taci… welcome to the community. Spring is upon us here in the Dakota’s, the 3-4 feet of snow in our yard is almost all melted away.
Just keep thinking spring and strumming that gui-tar.
Hey and welcome to this awesome community. Being from Denmark with loads of cold long dark winter nights, I know exactly what you mean. Wishing you a most lovely and enjoyable guitar Journey. Classic Rock is cool.
Welcome to the forum Taci. I’m about 500 miles north of you in Alberta. The snow was mostly gone here until this morning when it snowed. The nice thing is the sun is out now and melting what fell earlier.
I’m wishing you a very warm welcome to Justin Guitar. His lessons are the best out there. It’s hard to believe I’ve been here almost three years already. My advisor to take your time and pick a few small things to learn at a time. His videos are there when you’re Redford them. I’ve made tremendous progress with Justin guitar, but still a long way to go. I grew up in that cold climbing left many years ago when I was 17. I still have family in the Black Hills area. If you’re down for a change visit San Diego. I’m in shorts today ready for the beach. Best of luck on the journey.
Welcome, from Michigan! You show us all a photo of your guitar! It’s amazing how being able to play even a little on a guitar makes the music we listen to so much more interesting!
Welcome Taci, so nice to have you here .
Playing guitar is a fantastic indoor and outdoor hobby. I’m already looking forward to the warm evening hours on my terrace, playing guitar, and simply enjoying live .
I wish you a wonderful guitar journey and hope to hear more from you .
Hi Taci, welcome. Any reason is good for playing the guitar. No snow around here now in the part of Ontario I live, but here there is not much that can be called a mountain either.
I love your musical tastes! I also think it’s cool that you are from Bozeman where Gibson guitars are made. I long for a Gibson but it’s not in the budget so I bought an Epiphone J-200 instead.
