I suspect I may have heard the Stray Cats do this or something similar. And maybe Jeff Beck doing that style on the album Crazy Legs (Jeff Beck & the Big Town Playboys). Great video of a performance given at Ronnie Scotts.
Mix wise and based on what I am hearing through a headset on the standard PC audio (rather than mixing cans and AI), I would like to have heard the bass coming through a little stronger. Such a great riff, walking bass line.

The songs or players? Well, I guess both. But it’s fun to go back and see how all this started. To me, the simplicity of some of the old songs is pretty amazing.

@DavidP Hi, David. Thanks for that feedback, very encouraging. It’s interesting, if you go back and listen to the Etta James version, how these old songs can change over time but yet still be relevant.
I’ve got to agree with your comments on the bass. I’m going to go with my gut from now on, I think. Some of these older songs just call out for a heavy bass line.
I’ve got to say this bass line is fun to play and very versatile.

Great performance I am starting to learn some old rock n roll, long tall sally, chantilly lace and somethin else by Eddie Cochran who was killed in a car crash not far from where I live and one of the police officers who attended was later known as Dave Dee of dozy, beaky, mick and tich.
Great stuff, Dave! I enjoyed rockig along on my couch. 
Great groove going on, all is so well played, vocal performance as superb as always and the overall production is also really good. Nothing to offer but applause from my end.

I think from what I heard prior of this one. You managed to turn a good song into a bonified toe tapper. Nice job all around. I went full screen on my 32" monitor and took in your finger work on the bass strings, along with your box lead play. Nice stuff, for sure. Sounds the better part of it too!
All you need now is a travel guitar, so you can play when you hit the road!

Well that was a jolly 12 bar romp Dave. Another song that new to me but a really enjoyable listen. As usual well played and sung combined with a well constructed video, given the processing limitation. Top job.

Hopefully there will be more coming, but it will be a while. This one popped up unexpectedly and was went together fairly quickly. Leaving on holiday Friday for a while without guitar and, in lot of spots, without internet. 
Actually, I kind of like getting away from it for a bit.

Not sure what you meant by “well constructed video”. If talking about the licks and solo being added into the rhythm part, it wasn’t an edit, it was re-recorded with both parts played. Thanks for stopping by.
