Quick question am I allowed to play the guitar to check if my guess on the test is correct.
Hi Tristan @tristankr, we’re expected not to use the guitar during the test. The goal is to use nothing but our ears (and our minds - with those song references!) to identify the intervals. You’ll quickly gain confidence in this. ![]()
20/20 here. Thanks! The song that comes to my mind is “Agnus Dei” by Third Day. I didn’t know those were perfect 5ths before, but now I do! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12fQu46M4Cw
20 / 20 for me. I’m looking forward to the next one.
100% Feeling pleased and a little bit smug ![]()
90% for me. Great app!
100%. Thanks Justin for making musical theory easy. And for everything else!!!
80%, fairly happy with that result for my first time ever attempting anything like this. I guess my 53 year old ears aren’t completely washed up ![]()
Only 2 wrong, wow im impressed with myself haha
100% on first try! I had my doubts as there was so few octaves in my answers haha. Great exercise! Well worth repeating it as well even if you get a good score on first try
100%! I feel awesome!
18/20. It wasn’t until halfway through that I realized there were octaves in there ![]()
100%. not sure why, but I could always hear the song intervals for 4th and 5th immediately on the first sounding whether I wanted to or not. I guess I identify with them well (star wars, auld lang syne).
95% Thanks a lot!
16/20 not bad
Hey been using your app for 12 months but this was the first time I actually tested myself . 19/20 95% really happy especially as I’m almost deaf in the right ear :))
17/20 ![]()
All of the ones I got wrong were wrong because I thought they were octaves instead of 4ths or 5ths. Looks Like I need some more practice! To be fair, I went through this part of the course in one day at school (so no guitar) and then took the test at school too… I’m happy with it!
100% Thanks Justin
Hi Justin, really useful and also helping me understand favourite riffs I’ve been humming for years without knowing the notes! . " Sang " up the scale and your learning examples for a 19/20. Looking forward to learning more ![]()
19/20, missed an octave!
