Justin, I just watched this lesson, and you were wondering how Steve Cropper got some of the sounds in his licks. This interview may have the answer. He didn’t like the wound G string that came in original box of Gibson electric guitar strings, so he used an unwound B string for his G string (2 B strings). He said this was the way he played on the recording of Green Onions.
