Hi everyone - I’ve been hanging around the sight for a month or so and figured it was time to introduce myself. I’ve recently retired and finally have the time to go back and learn all the stuff that I missed along the way. I’ve been playing on/off for 40 years, had some buddies that I jammed with regularly, but never really “learned” the guitar. I’ve been playing bass for the last 5 years and recently moved back to guitar. I play electric and acoustic depending on the song and my mood. I love old blues and classic rock.
H Brad!
Darn, I didn’t ever think I’d see another Nebraskan here. But low and behold.
I’m in Lincoln. You close to me?
Sounds like your just ahead of me. I’m 63, so not quite retired, but close, should I get the chance.
I’m pretty new here myself, but JG seemed like the place to come to if I wanted to learn to play better than I do, which is what I want, so here I am too.
I’ve found this forum to have kind friendly folks with nothing but good words and inspiration for me. Hope you find it that way too.
Sounds like your also ahead of me in your playing. I’ve never had the chance to play with others. I bet you had a fun time doing that.
Right on man. That’s where I’m at too for my taste in music.
While I am new here, I’ve had enough time to post up a couple of my renditions. Hope we can hear some of yours too.
This is fun.
So glad to see a fellow Nebraskan here. I’m amazed since we have such a small populated state and this is a world wide forum.
There is much to do here. I’m overwhelmed actually. I don’t even know where on this site to go next. Much to do and much to learn.
Enjoy your time here.
Since I’m so new here myself, I don’t know if it’s my place to Welcome You, but I do.
Welcome to the fun and education Brad.
Hi Brad, welcome to the community forum. You’ll find that there are a lot of other retirees here, some with similar backgrounds. You find old blues and classic rock in the website song lessons or in the Justin Guitar app. Your bass guitar and jam session experience should help you make a lot of progress. Have fun.
Welcome to the forum, great you’ve already met other Nebraskans here. I was born and raised in Kansas and now live down under. Look forward to hearing more from you
