I was encouraged to post an introduction here from another forum and thought it was probably time I did so as well. I’m 53, been using the Justin App for a couple years now and just about finished with Grade 2. It’s been a terrific experience so far and one made easier anytime I read through the community forums here. The level of support shared among members has gotten me through a couple of rough patches (those first few chord changes immediately come to mind). Perhaps simply knowing that others have struggled as well and then came out the other side no worse for the wear is enough to keep me going.
At any rate, I want to thank everyone for what you do here and the (unwitting) help you’ve given me. It’s much appreciated and I likely would have given up shortly after starting without it. Hope to keep learning with and from everyone for years to come.
Welcome to the community. Great to read of your progress. I started playing when I was 53 and am thrilled with the progress I’ve made thanks to Justin over the last 13 years. Finally living the dream.
Welcome here (again from me )and I wish you a lot of fun
I started at the age of 47 and am now the young age of 51 and without this group of people it would have been a lot less fun and a lot very very lot lonelier to learn (but I would have had a lot more guitar hours to play left )
It’s great that the community has already gotten you through difficult times…
The great thing here is that…
Shared sorrow is half the sorrow …But shared pleasure is more than double the pleasure
Welcome Greg! It’s good to have you here, and honestly good to know that folks (hopefully many folks) benefit from this wonderful community in addition to us, uh, outspoken ones!.
This Community is a great place to supplement learning guitar - lots of interesting stories, funny anecdotes about music related things, AVOYPs that inspire us amateurs to improve & the general feeling of support, (don’t forget, lots of pictures of guitars too!!! ).
I wish you lots of fun & good times along you Journey!
