Gretsch Electromatic Premier Jet

I came across this today.

I really like the look of Gretsch guitars, and this one is very good looking. It has some interesting features, like 12 adjustable pole pieces on each pickup. I haven’t seen this elsewhere.
Available in the UK from next week at Andertons…

Got the GAS going .

I love them. Some of my favorite players use Gretsch guitars.
Tim Armstrong (Rancid)

Poison Ivy (The Cramps)

Mike Ness (Social Distortion)

There are others too. I really like them, they are big guitars though, so be carful. Lots of cool upgrades that you can do with most of them too.

Leo Fender designed Magnetic Field Design pickups at G&L and these had individually adjustable pole pieces.

This model is more or less like a Les Paul, but lighter because of the chambered body.

I wonder how truly useful this is, but it sounds cool. Definitely not a common feature in today’s guitars.

I did recently crank up the poles on my neck pickup E and B strings because I thought they were sounding a bit thin compared to the others. Seemed to help. It’s interesting that other companies have now started offering this too.

very nice I like the vintage pearl look

Hi Erion,

That guitar looks great. If it was me, I’d go the the black (binding looks super cool) or the white to really stand out.

Don’t know about so many adjustable pole pieces. Sounds to me like fiddling with all of those on top of all the different tonal amp settings pedals etc too, could be a real rabbit hole.

However, I love the guitar and the fact that it’s chambered is also a real plus. Anything to reduce weight is good IMO as long as it doesn’t end up with neck dive. My Yamaha Pacifica is chambered and the weight and balance is perfect.

The problem for me with very new guitar models is no “real user” reviews. Just the hype.
