In Justinâs latest email, he mentioned that he is planning to add/improve content in the intermediate level (grades 4, 5, 6) course.
Any idea if this will include the âgroove studyâ lesson module that has been mentioned often on the website? As a level 4 student now, this is my area of greatest interest. I have been trying to piece together my own âgroove studyâ using content from other teachers, but I prefer Justinâs teaching style and lesson content over the others out there.
That would be fantastic, fast eddy. What a great idea.
I really like groove. The first time I thought about it in terms of music rather than just lingo, a friend and me were listening to Zeppelins âwhen the Levee Breaksâ and the drums were going, my mom walk by my room and said that a groove beat. She said its all about the anticipation, and the pull.
She was showing me that even with with a very different type of music than her normal James Brown that she was into at the time you still can have the same basic elements. She knew her music.
Now that Iâm an âintermediateâ player, my goal for this year is to be able to create my own rhythm tracks on my looper, then use them to practice Blues scale and Major Scale melodies/licks on top of them. So, building my rhythm chops by following a Groove Study module of lessons would be a perfect fit
I remember why I didnt read this one very well. One of the first things I do in a new unit is make a spotify play list of all the unit songs. That way when I am out and about, I can visualize my fret board, memorize vocals things without the guitar, I think about âthe specialsâ the pushes, embelishers and the bridge This is the first unit without the play list.
I bet if you start another thread in the appropriate place asking for some good Groove songs you might get a buch of good suggestions of song from here that would fit the description. I can think of a few. Not instructions for groove itself obviously but. Better than nothing while waiting.
I like the way you think Fast Eddit. Haha thats so cliche but I had to do it.
