We are vacationing near Marseilles, France (village of Veleux) until 21 April, 2025. Thinking it might be nice to rent 1 or 2 acoustic guitars, and do some playing by the pool.
Are there any Justin Community members in the area? Can you recommend a good local music shop that might do rentals?

I don’t know the music shops in Marseille but if you type location guitare Marseille, you will find the main music shops. I would just call some of the main ones and ask. I don’t know if you speak French but in a bigger music stores there will likely be someone who can speak some English.
Or, take a traveler guitar + spark go with you ?

It’s in the small bag and the bag is like 75cm x 20cm and quite flat.
Maybe look for their equivalent of a an emporium in the UK? There must be one.
They have dozens of stalls with one till. Here you can often see several guitars at around £20. Some a bit knocked and bumped but decent in their day. When you’re done sell it on, or leave it. Must be way cheaper than renting and if someone throws it in the pool it won’t matter and you won’t lose your deposit!

Not sure what you mean by “emporium” in this context , and Google was not helpful.
Maybe similar to what we call a “flea market” in my part of Canada? Small time sellers of used goods who rent a table in a shared space on the weekend?
Which also suggests trying pawn shops, which I hadn’t considered.
I’ll have to figure out what the French equivalents are. But there hasn’t been much time for potential playing…with all the travel and sightseeing and so forth.

We also have charity shops here, which are called Op-shops in Australia. Where they sell stuff gifted by locals but they can be a bit adventurous with their pricing.
There must be similar in France.
