Handle with Care - Traveling Wilburys

This is what I was working on last week! I learned the basics of it some time ago but got a bit rusty. Came back to it again as I thought it might help me with my picking technique. Lots of arpeggios. I welcome any feedback or tips or ideas of things to work on.

Sounding great David! Arpeggiated chords are difficult to play for any length of time - I find my picking hand gets tired and sloppy after a while, so yeah, well done!

Nice job, especially on all the apreggios. I need to add this tune to my set list. I already have another Wilburys tune in it. It would be good practice making my arpeggios stronger.

Btw, I have a Thinline that’s very similar to yours. The body is a bit darker on mine (although it could be the video).

Thanks @dmisen — definitely an endurance builder! Fun one to play. I learned Handle with Care too and the intro’s one of those riffs I go to when I’m just messing around. It doesn’t hurt that almost everyone recognizes it immediately.

The tele looks a bit darker in the video than it does in real life. It’s the Squier CV 70s Thinline. I love everything about it except for the neck being a bit narrower than I’d like, so I have to be careful when I play it. (There’s at least one point in the video where I accidentally push the first string off the fretboard—not sure if it is noticeable.)

Thanks, @Willsie! It’s a classic song—can’t go wrong with that band’s lineup!

I have the Squire 60’s Classic Vibe version. Funny, I have the same opinion on the neck. When I bought a solid body, I intentionally went looking for a thicker neck guitar. I’m considering swapping the Thinline for a semi-hollow with a thicker neck.

I’ve thought about trading mine in, too, to be honest. I have some sentimental attachment as it was the first electric guitar I bought. I’ve also thought about just swapping the neck but that would come with its own risks, and I sometimes wonder if it is a sign of a fault in my technique. I’m trying to play it more to see if I can get used to it before I do anything I might regret. I do love the look and sound of it and it’s so lightweight!
