Just a quick note to thank this page, Justin and community.
Its just passed my 12 month guitar-aversary and I had a fairly good moment this morning.
Just played 4 or 5 songs from my repatoire and you know how you get those days where nothing works, we’ll today was as though someone smiled upon me when I was practicing it was the opposite.
One of those days where I made myself proud.
Really lovely moment where everything worked.
I played,
Drugs don’t work by the verve.
Live forever oasis,
Wonderwall,
Take on me aha - both strumming and finger picked version.
Wild thing, the trogs
and im currently learning Let her Go by Passanger and I did a fairly good job of that too.
I’ve said it before but learning guitar has literally changed my life.
I do need to buy a decent guitar at some point but I’ve kinda fell in love with my crappy one tbh.
Right bro. Nothing wrong with a old axe. It’s you learner instrument and its gotten you through a lot so far. You will know when you are ready buy a new one.
One thing ypu can do is use it for learning to do small up grades. Electronic, like adding a better volume pot or mechanical, like a bone nut. These are super cheap. Changing small things is fun and can go a long way in improving tone and playability, if you have a itch to play with this side of things.
Well done James its a dream mate and take Jasons advice, I still have my first real crappy guitar still play it still love it, and I will keep it cheers HEC
Congrats! I just hit 6 months and am a little concerned as I’ve slowed down a LOT. I’m in the last lesson on grade two and trying to nail down what I’ve learned so far. It’s a tall mountain - there’s lots of us behind you! Congrats again for keeping up the work! You are inspiring me to keep going!
