Happy Christmas NGD to me!

Buying myself an instrument for Christmas is getting to be a habit! last year was a Cigar Box Guitar, the year before was a piano, and this year its a Squier Classic Vibe 50s Telecaster in butterscotch! TBH it’s as much my reward for persevering with BLIM as it is a Christmas pressie!

I love how you can just see the grain of the wood through the finish. And the sound! I’ll get round to posting a recording eventually but I have a feeling that the other guitars in the rack are going to feel neglected in 2025

Happy NGD Ian & Congratulations!

Can’t beat a Tele for fun times! What amp are you playing through?
Hope you have a blast - Rock On!!!

Congrats Ian, that is a really nice looking guitar.
Tele in butterscotch is top of my wish list when I have the means.
Enjoy. Looking forward to hearing you play it at some point.
Best wishes,

Alan

Cheers Tod!

I have a Blackstar ID Core 20, and a Fazley (me neither until I found an online store called Bax music, it’s their own-brand gear) 5w tube amp. Even though it’s only 5w I’ve had to get an attenuator to be able to play it cranked up! Without the attenuator any volume above 2 is too loud for me in my living room. Having said that, when I make recordings and when I’m using My Practice Assistant (i.e. when I’m hooked up to the PC and using headphones) I use an ancient Zoom G1Xon multi-effect pedal set up to emulate a 1965 Fender Deluxe Reverb, with a smidgen of reverb and a touch of compression

Nice, Telecasters are a very versatile guitar, that’s why I like them. I had a Classic vibe but found it very heavy and ended up trading it for a different brand Thinline copy which was about a pound and a half lighter, much better for me, plus it had P90’s which I really like!
Have fun with it and enjoy it!

This is featherlight compared to my Vintage LP, which is heavier than a precision bass!

That’s a really nice tele. They look great in butterscotch blond.

I have a classic vibe (60’s) and it sounds great. I don’t know what the difference is compared to the classic vibe 50’s that you have, but I’m sure you are going to have a lot of fun with that guitar -and just the right time to get it as you will have the xmas holidays to play it.
