Haha, couldn’t resist this one! It’s a return to my roots thing for me too, it came for an amazing price in as new condition!
OK no more suspense, I got a Bugera Infinium T5 - 5 Watts of Class A Tube goodness (it also turns down to 1W and 0.1W) , on 0.1W I can crank it up full and get that sort of gorgeous tone it’s impossible to do any other way!
Yes I absolutely love it, at the moment I’m using it with my Orange 1x8 cab which is OK at 0.1W but am building a 1x10 cab using a speaker I already have.
Anyway this is it:
It’s quite heavy, much heavier than I expected, the reason being that it’s an all pressed steel case, very well made. I really like it that you can see the valves glowing while it’s in use.
Groovy lookin setup ya got there Darrell. Better yet that it came for a amazing price. Outstanding!
Looks like some Rock & Roll in the making to me.
Congrats on your new score. Looks great!
It’s not an Orange amp, just the speaker cab. The amp is Bugera which is a division of Behringer, they make a few heads that are exceptional value for money, and they perform very well.
The T5 is a very simple one channel amp that’s so reactive to your playing, it responds very well to the tone and volume controls and also takes pedals well. As it doesn’t have a FX loop time based FX are a bit hit and miss but that’s not what I wanted it for.
I forgot to add the bit of the story about how I got it, the guy I got it off was pretty much a first time buyer, he didn’t know what he was buying, he got it because it was cheaper than some of the others he was looking at. He bought it online thinking all that he had to do was plug it in and that was it, he had used it with headphones a few times but wasn’t keen, so he decided to sell it, cut his losses and get something else. He wanted £140 for it so I offered £120 plus advice on what would be suitable for his purposes. He accepted right away and was grateful for help with what he needed. He ended up with an Orange Crush 35 RT which he is over the moon with, so all came good.
I shall be doing a demo of it when I’ve got some free time, I have a few projects in hand so need to look at which get priority.
Yeah, they’re usually around £165 so it was a pretty good deal. Also he ended up a happy bunny because I sorted him out and ran him through how to use the Amp.
Hi Darell, I have to admit, I know nothing about this amp, from the far, I can only say, it looks stunning and if the tones coming out are as nice as it looks, you must be very happy. I also would appreciate a little demo, you made me very curious!
I am starting grade 3 soon and I have just a small little Fender frontman amp and for what it is, it actually does the job pretty well, but I know soon I am going to be looking for a new setup as well.
Most of amps/pedals/effect tools are all still foreign to me, but hopefully soon I will have it figured out and be able to get some new gear of my own!
