Happy New Year! (My New Year Hymn) - original

Actually I recorded it before Christmas and intended to call it Merry Christmas So Let’s Be Merry, but then I remembered I had already used up my December allowance for posting a recording. So here it is now, again–with best New Year wishes to Everyone here.

…and a couple of topic-related postcards:

(Taken last night just past midnight)

(Taken this evening on a street in my neighbourhood; I don’t remember so much snow in Warsaw in recent years)

Its always a pleasure !

I do have a question though
have you ever tried to change your tone sometimes ?

most ( pro ) guitar players like to change their tones from one song to another
I ve listened to many of your AVOYP and I feel like there”s always the same sound ( its reverb I think ? )

Is it because you love the tone you use ?

Tomasz feel free to treat our ears and share as many recordings as you like, only you should put the recording in the first topic you made for the month. Let’s see if I can be clearer:

each month you can create

  • 1 topic for AVOYP
  • 1 topic for Originals
  • 1 topic for Playing Live

…and in those 3 topics you can add as many recordings as you wish, and add them in the title.

I need a relaxed moment for listening

That’s perfectly true, no question about it. But, luckily for me, I’m not a pro… Just a humble amateur (not even a bedroom rocker, as most of what I play isn’t rock), who finds pleasure in choosing the guitar tones to his liking  If you have a feeling that my sound is the same, song to song, it’s because I only use a clean amp channel and, secondly, I like delay/reverb effects, that I often have a tendency to overuse. But, believe it or not, there are differences, sometimes subtle ones, but still…
Thank you very much for your remarks, much appreciated.

so the answer is just that you love reverb and thats the only reason you need to use it

Yeah, I got it, Silvia, thanks for the reminder. For now one song a month is fine with me, but I’ll keep it in mind that there are other possibilities.

Not the only reason, but an important factor.

Very festive, Tomasz!!
It has a lovely, lively vibe that lends just the right atmosphere for holiday celebrations!!! Reference Deborah’s comment about tone, I see her point but also enjoy the variations that I hear in different pieces you’ve posted! To me it’s kind of like listening to your favorite group… you expect that vibe when they play!
Nice one Tomasz!!!

Sounds wonderful, Tomasz, love the arrangement and tone, the melody.

And wishing you and yours, the best for 2026

Remember the allowance permits one topic created in each sub-category of Community Recordings. You are welcome to add more recordings to that topic as replies.

If you are not able to edit the title and first post in the topic to reflect the additional recording I am happy to do that for you.

Tod - I’m really glad you said that. There are indeed some variations, sometimes subtle ones, still clearly audible, especially when you listen to a particular recording through a pair of good headphones. This New Year song of mine was recorded in full stereo, and the R-L channel separation helps distinguish between the backing track sounds and the melody guitar line.
Thanks so much for listening and a nice comment, glad you liked it.

Thank you so much for the kind words and good wishes. Yes, I’m aware I can add more recordings to a topic once started; I think my current status would allow me to change the title (I did that once or twice last year), but in the case of this song I wanted to post it as a standalone recording in a separate topic. No problem, one recording a month is just fine, I don’t think I need more; thanks for the reminder nonetheless.

I love them all, I try and listen to just about everything most member post. I appreciate everyone individual senses of styles of music. We all have our personal freedom as artists to make the art we choose, It is what gives us our musical character. It’s like our personal clothing style. Make music the way you want and how you want, this is the way I look at it.

Now the real question is, if I play your music backwards is it going to tell me to worship the devil, I heard thats a thing. :smiling_face_with_horns::ogre::alien:

That is so beautiful Tomasz!
So mellow and sweet :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
It brought to me an image of watching the sunset on a beach

I do not consider myself an artist, but I completely agree about having the right to choose the way we all create our music.

That I’m not sure of… but you may be right, haven’t tried it yet…
Jason - thanks for listening and the comment, much appreciated.

Very nice…

Id suggest a different tone for the layered/lead sections as they blend in and could be made to pop out a bit more

Otherwise a nice vibey/serene piece

Thanks for that remark, Ben; you’re right, since yours is not the first comment with a similar suggestion I’ve received. Unfortunately, I tend to do it in many recordings I’ve posted here…
