Very nice. If you’re looking for constructive criticism, I might suggest attempting a bit more volume in your singing to sit in the mix better. But a really good job overall!

@ToshS : I appreciate & completely agree with your recommendation. Constructive criticism is always welcome for further improvement

I’m probably subconsciously trying to hide my voice behind the sound of the instruments :). I’m the kind of guy who loves to sing while playing guitar … but doesn’t like to hear his own voice on a recording !

Anyway, I’ll improve the mix in my next recording even if it requires a - conscious - effort on my side

Fabulous, Paul. Really enjoyed your vocal, no need to be shy about that here.

How did you produce the drums.

You are obviously (at least in my eyes and ears) an accomplished musician and performer (also just enjoyed the Live recording). I hope you’ll share your knowledge and experience with others on the path.

Great to see you out here in the wide world in addition to the BLIM 3 area Paul. Singing and playing …

I hope you enjoy your first JG Open Mic.

nice playing and singing here

I ve always wondered how people can play and sing or how people can smile and play
So someone who can play sing and smile is beyond my comprehension

@DavidP : About your question for the drums.

I plug a simple Looper pedal having some embedded drums patterns in an acoustic Amp.

I also plug my electro-acoustic guitar in the same amp. If you have a look at the very end of the song, you will see that I stop the looper / drums with my foot on the last beat.

I sing without micro. I place the iPhone so that my voice is closer than the amp (guitar + drums) to find the right mix (very amateur … but it seems to work decently so far).

Everything is recorded with my iPhone. And that’s it.

So I would say : simple set up. Probably slightly better than just recording without an amp for the drums / guitar.

But certainly not as good as If were using a Audio - interface + DAW on laptop allowing to really manage the mix between the separated tracks, etc … which I’ll try in the coming weeks (but first focus for me = BLIM courses and the work on my guitar
