Hello all, David from Buckinghamshire UK

After attending my first Justin Guitar open mic event as an audience member yesterday, and having become a frequent poster in the BLIM2 community area since the start of this year, this is my first post in the main community hub to say hello to the wider community.

It was great to put some faces to forum names during the performances and after show chat last night and I look forward to joining more open mic sessions and hopefully playing at one later this year.

I have played guitar since my school days and, with a few gaps here and there, I have logged around 30 years as a hobby guitar player. All sorts of genres and playing styles have been tried from rock and metal through to classical and on starting to play more regularly again around two years ago I came across Justin Guitar last summer and started brushing up on my music theory and trying to adopt a more formal approach to my practising.

This is going well so far and the wealth of useful information available on this site is no doubt going to keep me coming back for a while!

It was great to have a chat after the OM David, good to see you embracing the wider community and getting involved. Don’t forget to spread the word back in the village.
And thanks for the intro.

Hello David and welcome!

Welcome to the community David!

Hello David - It’s great to see you stepping out of the blues immersion area and that you also attended the open mic.
Let me add some useful info perhaps with my usual welcome.

Welcome to JustinGuitar and this fantastic community. Please take your time to look around and get to know the wider space. View by Categories.

We are a supportive and encouraging group of students and guitarists from across the world. Essentially, we are all here for music and to improve as players. We truly are a ‘community’. Members help and support one another and a friendly, positive attitude underpins this. We hope that all - young or old, experienced or new players - adopt and foster the pay-it-forward ethos that Justin personifies and embedded all those years ago when he started the website and forum.

Also, please make sure to read the Community Etiquette announcement for some important information and guidance.

If you want to record yourself to show your progress and / or seek feedback there is our ever popular Community Recordings section.

Behind the scenes there is a small and dedicated team who work to make the JustinGuitar experience as good as it can be. Check out the Onboarding sessions provided by Fanny. Justin also has a small group of Approved Teachers he recommends for people wanting 1-to-1 lessons to supplement his courses.

That is plenty to be going on with. It is a vast community space so if you need help as you find your way around just ask.

Cheers. Richard
