Hello Team
A new starter for a millions time and always lost.
Can you please help me to understand where to start?
54 years young but zero musical but all my life was fascinated with electric guitar playing and players. Who can play like gods. who cannot like me feel is so out of reach no talent.
I did a bit of the website training g with Justin but really i lost track never can find my way around
Sorry lost message but I would appreciate if possible to get some idea or directions
Thank you
The website is free
The website is video and text for you to follow in a complete beginners to advanced course + a lot of extra material on styles, techniques etc AND a LOT of song lessons to learn to specific songs.
The app isn’t free
The app uses the technology of your phone to detect sound, to display text and images etc.
It has a more interactive feel and animated visualisations etc.
You learn to match rhythms by playing along with songs
Welcome to the community site. I am glad you found your way here. Its easy to get lost here. Justin really offers so much its not hard to lose your way. There is the education site where all the lessons are and then the is the community site where we all talk about it. The is great info on the community site of course and the teachers and instructors are amazing as you have just found out from Lieven. Follow his direction. Start at grade one.
I, just like you started after I turned 50. Justin is just great with people just starting out and he really is a great teacher. His grade 1 stuff is amazing foundational stuff and will get you feeling good right from the get go. Work the program, and practice. Use the resources avalible on the site. Having fun is the key. Always feel comfortable about asking questions and considering. Looking into Fannys onboarding club to help you navigate the website.
yep, Justin Guitar. Some of it is free, and if you decide to join, the annual fee is about the cost of a few lessons from a pro. You can advance at your own pace. You can interact with other people learning to play the guitar too and get helpful advice and great encouragement from feedback. Don’t delay, start today! I get absolutely nothing for saying that, I just believe that. Talent isn’t found, it’s built. Anyone can play great music on an instrument if they put the time and effort into it. A year from now you’ll be a year better than if you keep putting it off.
Correction
Most of it’s Free, you can interact with the community, get access to all grades of lessons, song lessons and livestream lessons.
It costs nothing to join the website and forum.
Hi, Lucsi! Yes, I can perfectly understand you! I had the same problem, because there’s so much on the website. I tried a bit of everything in my first week, but I’ve come to conclusion that the best place to start is a first lesson of Beginner Grade 1. The system is really great, just make your way through it. Good luck!
Hello @Lucsi welcome to JustinGuitar and the Community.
The website and this forum are huge and no doubt overwhelming to start.
As advised already, start at Grade 1 of the Beginner course.
I thoroughly recommend that you join live or watch a catch up recording of the Onboarding club hosted by @FannyJustinGuitar
There is one happening monthly, next in June I believe.
Fanny is the team’s Student Success Specialist and she is always happy and willing to help.

We are a supportive and encouraging group of students and guitarists from across the world. Essentially, we are all here for music and to improve as players. We truly are a ‘community’. Members help and support one another and a friendly, positive attitude underpins this. We hope that all - young or old, experienced or new players - adopt and foster the pay-it-forward ethos that Justin personifies and embedded all those years ago when he started the website and forum.
Also, please make sure to read the Community Etiquette announcement for some important information and guidance.
If you have any questions people are more than willing to help.
