Hi, my name is GARY I picked up a guitar Electric one when I was 14 years old I used to love getting sounds out of it very much like the original old Pink Floyd and Alice Cooper sounds getting sound effects of a Wawa pedal did not realising I was playing some stuff which I should’ve recorded because today it would’ve been recognised but then I decided to go acoustic learn three songs When I was out in Malaysia Port-Ivan as acoustic guitar started very enjoying playing came back to England needed a job got one washing up in a care home activities people needing help. Do you know any songs? Can you play guitar whilst we assist? So I did and that was the start of it? So I joined Justin guitar I can’t remember it might of been 2020 but just before Covid I started playing a lot more and then I lost my account so I created another but I’m still a bit bewildered to where all my information went of coming on here and learning and going through the Courses as I got to intermediate but now I’m seems to be thrown back to beginning again if anybody could Give me guidance on this that would be helpful. I retire in March so I’m going to have a lot more time, learning and perfecting my skills on the guitar I love guitars.
Hello Gary.
Welcome to JustinGuitar and this fantastic community. Please take your time to look around and get to know the wider space. View by Categories.
We are a supportive and encouraging group of students and guitarists from across the world. Essentially, we are all here for music and to improve as players. We truly are a ‘community’. Members help and support one another and a friendly, positive attitude underpins this. We hope that all - young or old, experienced or new players - adopt and foster the pay-it-forward ethos that Justin personifies and embedded all those years ago when he started the website and forum.
Also, please make sure to read the Community Etiquette announcement for some important information and guidance.
If you want to record yourself to show your progress and / or seek feedback there is our ever popular Community Recordings section.
Behind the scenes there is a small and dedicated team who work to make the JustinGuitar experience as good as it can be. Check out the Onboarding sessions provided by Fanny.
Justin also has a small group of Approved Teachers he recommends for people wanting 1-to-1 lessons to supplement his courses - of which I am privileged to be one.
We also host regular (virtual) JustinGuitar Community Open Mic events for community members.
That is plenty to be going on with. It is a vast community space so if you need help as you find your way around just ask.
Cheers. Richard

Hi, Gary,
Greetings from Warsaw, Poland, and welcome to the community. I’m sure you’re going to enjoy every visit to the site.
Oh, absolutely! I fully retired in 2021 and, indeed, I had never played before as much as I do now (sometimes 3-4 hours a day). Since you played before, I’m sure you’ll catch up with your previously achieved skill level in no time. Have fun! ![]()
Hi Gary,
Welcome here and I wish you a lot of fun ![]()

Hi Gary and welcome! I suggest you send a DM to @FannyJustinGuitar and give her some more details about your lost account, she might be able to help you through that.
Welcome to the community Gary!
Nice to meet you here, Gary. You are in for a good time so many cool people around this community, cheers HEC
Hi Gary, welcome to the community forum. If it has been a while since you were learning guitar with Justin’s lessons, it would be good to go back through the lessons again to refresh your skills. I’ve done that at least twice
it gives you a chance to learn more songs from Justin’s great song lessons on the JG website. Have fun in your guitar journey in retirement.
Welcome to the forum Gary
