Hello, friends! I am very happy to join you and become part of the community!
My name is Alexander, I am 37 years old. As a child, I studied wind instruments at music school, but then I quit! And now, as an adult, I have picked up a guitar—a real one
I was very happy about that!
I asked the GPT chat to recommend the best guitar course, and it suggested Justin. At first, I was skeptical because there are many instructional videos on the internet, and they are all quite peculiar!
But this course exceeded all my expectations! It’s such in-depth work and there’s so much material! I’m just amazed! I’m very happy to be with you!
I’m currently studying the first module.
My specs are a 2000 Gibson SG Standard and a Boss Katana 50 Gen3.
Welcome Alexander, we’re glad you’re here! You’ll surely enjoy playing that SG much more than the not-real (perhaps of the air variety ) guitar you might have picked up before! Hope to see you around.
Hello Alexander
Very nice to meet you! Welcome to the JG Community Glad you are here
You are definitely in a great place for learning with JustinGuitar! I am also still amazed at the high level of content.
You have some great gear too, feel free to share some pics of that Gibson
If you start on the justinguitar.com website and start in the beginning, it is a very comprehensive beginner course; not only how to teach you how to play but introducing you to some concepts without going too much in depth at first.
Although the form may vary over the years, Justins personal style and authenticity is always there ^^
Hello Alexander & Welcome!!!
It sounds like you are on the right path to learn guitar! Justin’s program is a tried & true method for those who want to learn!
One thing I recommend to “newbies” is to get a stand or wall hanger so that your guitar is always “handy” to pick up & play when you only have a few minutes. I like to play while my coffee’s brewing in the morning… I just don’t plug it in so it’s quieter & that way everyone else can sleep!
Also, make sure to keep the “fun factor” in your practice sessions… some lessons may focus on an area that doesn’t interest you (although they’re helpful to learn techniques). When that happens, shift your focus to something that is fun… don’t let frustration hamper your enthusiasm & motivation!
Good luck!!!
Hi Alexander and welcome to our Community! Ah…the AI! I’m usually sceptical about it but now it really nailed the truth , artificially collecting data from thousands of happy JG human learners!

We are a supportive and encouraging group of students and guitarists from across the world. Essentially, we are all here for music and to improve as players. We truly are a ‘community’. Members help and support one another and a friendly, positive attitude underpins this. We hope that all - young or old, experienced or new players - adopt and foster the pay-it-forward ethos that Justin personifies and embedded all those years ago when he started the website and forum.
Also, please make sure to read the Community Etiquette announcement for some important information and guidance.
If you want to record yourself to show your progress and / or seek feedback there is our ever popular Community Recordings section.
Behind the scenes there is a small and dedicated team who work to make the JustinGuitar experience as good as it can be. Check out the Onboarding sessions provided by Fanny.
Justin also has a small group of Approved Teachers he recommends for people wanting 1-to-1 lessons to supplement his courses - of which I am privileged to be one.
