Hello from Aleš in Czech republic!

Hi everyone, my name is Aleš and I recently bought my first guitar (by accident when i was kinda drunk), yamaha pacifica 112j, left hand. Honestly, I was really surprised when it came… I surfed the hell out of all guitar websites to find some learning techniques, when in the comments of one reddit post, i found justinguitar website. To be honest, that was probably the biggest life saver. I am playing just for a week and a few days, but I already know basic chords, can change them all pretty fast. Know the strumming pattern with two up strums and miss on three and can play a lot of songs. I don’t know if this progress is good or not, but so far I feel pretty confident and eager to learn more. I am really glad that I found Justin.

Hi Ales,
Welcome her and I wish you a lot of fun :sunglasses:. For some the start goes super fast and almost automatically and a wall comes in their path a little later … some go on and on until perform up to the stage and some have problems with progress their entire guitar life … as long as you enjoy it, it’s all right
Follow Justinguitar’s route and I think you will continue to surprise yourself…
Greetings,Rogier

Welcome to the community Aleš :slightly_smiling_face:
Who says it would be impossible to make good decisions, when you are a bit drunk?
And yes, this sounds like really good progress :slightly_smiling_face:

Hello Aleš and welcome to our community.

It could possibly be the best drunken buy I’ve heard of.

Welcome to the community, we are glad you found Justin as well. Sounds like the best sort of drunk accident. I knew a lady who accidentally bought a ukulele when drunk and spent well over $2,000 on it, only to discover what she really wanted was a piano. I never knew a uke could cost that much, turns out there are ones that go for over $5,000.

Look forward to hearing more from you

Hello Aleš,
greetings from your neighborhood! I live in Nuremberg, which is not too far away. As I’ve already written in a different thread in this forum, during the last 15 years I’ve been in the Czech Republic many many times. I really like the country and I have friends there, especially in Prague. I’m visiting CZ regularly.
How you describe the start of your guitar journey, by accident as you say, that made me really smile. Wishing you lots of fun on your journey!

Welcome! It’s a great place, you’re learning really fast. Took me a couple months before I had the nerve to attempt a few songs (not counting the ones we were “forced” to play in the first module or so. Want to caution you not to go too fast, make sure you can play those chords cleanly, too, at some point.

But you’ve given me an idea on how to figure out which acoustic guitar to buy (currently play a cheap electric), apply more whiskey!

Ales, welcome to the community. You made a good decision while drunk. You must have found some good advice, because the Pacifica is a good electric guitar. I just hope you are left handed

Thanks! Yeah, remember these words: Alcohol is a god’s apology for making us self aware. go for it

Welcome fellow Pacifica owner :stuck_out_tongue:

So far (8 months in) it served me well.

Have fun on your learning journey!

That’s probably the best opening line to an introduction seen on this site. Also shows the danger of online shopping. In my days the worst thing you could do after a night out was to buy a dodgy kebab.

Ahoj Aleši,
přeju Ti ať to hraje. Důležité je, aby Tě to bavilo a jestli ses naučil už nějaký strumming pattern and akord, tak je to krásný postup. Vždyť přeci na začátku jsi neuměl nic, ne? Ať Ti to hraje.
