Hello from Howie in Hadera, Israel

Hi all. I’m Howie a 63 old timer New Yorker living in Israel. Bought a guitar almost 30 years ago but never learned how to play. Found Justin’s website and in the middle of module 1 and taking learning seriously finally. I have high hopes to learn how to play well enough to play songs from my favorite band Pink Floyd. Let’s see how it goes.

Welcome to the JG family. You’re never to old to learn to play the guitar. The lessons of JG are inspiring and it’s every day’s fun to practice and play. Wish you lots of beautiful guitar moments.
Regards from the Netherlands.

Welcome to the community. Thanks to Justin Guitar I started learning to play when I was 53. Now, 14 years later, I’m enjoying very much my new found “talent”. Look forward to hearing more from you

Hi Howie, welcome to the community. If you follow Justin’s lessons through grade 1, then I predict that you will learn a song by Pink Floyd when you start grade 2, since that happens in module 8

welcome Howie :guitar:

Welcome to the community Howie!

Welcome Howie.

Welcome to JustinGuitar and this fantastic community. There a whole host of golden oldies over in the dog house.
Please take your time to look around and get to know the wider space. View by Categories.

We are a supportive and encouraging group of students and guitarists from across the world. Essentially, we are all here for music and to improve as players. We truly are a ‘community’. Members help and support one another and a friendly, positive attitude underpins this. We hope that all - young or old, experienced or new players - adopt and foster the pay-it-forward ethos that Justin personifies and embedded all those years ago when he started the website and forum.

Also, please make sure to read the Community Etiquette announcement for some important information and guidance.

If you want to record yourself to show your progress and / or seek feedback there is our ever popular Community Recordings section.

Behind the scenes there is a small and dedicated team who work to make the JustinGuitar experience as good as it can be. Check out the Onboarding sessions provided by Fanny.

Justin also has a small group of Approved Teachers he recommends for people wanting 1-to-1 lessons to supplement his courses - of which I am privileged to be one.

We also host regular (virtual) JustinGuitar Community Open Mic events for community members.

That is plenty to be going on with. It is a vast community space so if you need help as you find your way around just ask.

Cheers. Richard

A warm welcome to our Community Howie, I hope you can find in your favourite music and guitar learning some relief from these difficult times.

Thank you for the warm welcome from the bomb shelter we run to a few times every day.

Thank you! And I agree, I do look forward to practicing and playing. I know I’ll never be a David Gilmour but I just want to be able to sound half decent.

Thank Tod for the warm welcome. Your message is encouraging coming another old dude. Let me know if you’d like to connect and compare notes.
