Hi, I’m Min from China. I’m 38 and a digital nomad.
I started my guitar journey 10 years ago, but gave up due to a lack of suitable resources. In late 2023, my desire to learn returned, and I discovered Justin’s videos, which led me to this website and renewed my hope. I also started a YouTube channel to document my progress: https://www.youtube.com/@MinsGuitarJourney, and I’m currently at Grade 3 Module 16.
I think I’m a bit in my own world a lot of the time, so it’s taken me forever to introduce myself here in the community.
Again, huge thanks to Justin and the team for this website and everything — it’s been more than amazing! Happy learning, everyone!
Wow Min, cool introduction. I am so stoked you decided to say “whats up” and share some with us. If you have lurked for a bit youncan see we are a fun group and pretty supportive. Dont hold back offering impot or asking question. Even post a photos of your local town sometime in the random photo section, some of is post our local areas too. Keep working hard and i cant wait to see and hear more from you. Keep up the guitar work.
Super nice that you step out of the shadows and post on the forum … I heard a few pieces of your songs and in the background while typing it plays ‘don`t worry be happy’ … wonderful and I also saw the ending when I listen the 2e time … and read what you typed that you have now made friends by recording the guitar outside in “real” life … and that is what makes this whole adventure so great …
Your video, voice and playing made me very happy
Thanks .
Hello Min. I watched you play Killing Me Softly. You are very good with fingerstyle and your singing is fine. Over time, as you gain confidence, you will want to project your playing and voice more. Don’t be afraid to sing and play with enthusiasm - that will outshine any small mistakes. And there was no need to apologize for your appearance or your playing - both are quite lovely!
I hope you will stay involved with the community here.
I’ll have a look at your you tube channel to see your progress. I did the same thing when I started playing and it is great to look back and see your progress as you improve. I suggest to take it a day at a time for steady progress. Hope to see you join us at our next open mic in June.
Thank you!
Nice to hear that our countrymen are cool
I progress quite slowly, yet I try to enjoy it when I learn and play. I am looking forward to sharing more, and I feel it’s a great community here.
Thank you!
It did take a bit of courage to speak up . I’m pretty new here, yet I feel it’s a warm and supportive place. Thanks for the tips, I will explore, interact, and share more in the future. And keep up the guitar work
