Hello. I’ve been around the lessons side of the JG site for the last six months. I didn’t realize there was a community forum. I’m in my mid-fifties and know myself so I can’t make any promises on keeping up with reading a forum but it’s nice to know it’s there when I need someone to bounce something off of.
My goal at the start of this adventure was to be able to play campfire songs sitting around with family or friends.
I’m having fun and although I still use the app to follow along playing songs (when the song is in the app), I enjoy it very much.
I’m looking forward to playing and singing along.
welcome
Welcome to the forum Patrick
Welcome Patrick! Don’t feel obliged to keep up on all the activity here…when I’m reading I often think “Gosh, I really should be practicing right now! And, don’t be shy about popping in with a question or comment any time, regardless of your activity. Hope to see you around!
Hi Patrick,
Welcome here and I wish you a lot of fun
and maintaining this community can be a very time-consuming business that might be better spent on guitar practice
, but with the correct and measured use it can certainly save a lot of time and help with the learning process in many ways
… and sometimes it is just a fun pastime and better than many other things that people do in their spare time…
Greetings,Rogier
Well we are here when you need us Patrick so welcome to a great community cheers HEC
Welcome Patrick !
Where’s VA ?
The state of Virginia in the USA.
Welcome! I can’t keep up as much as I’d like to on the forums either, Patrick. It’s tough, timewise. Glad you’re here!
Chris
Hi Patrick, welcome to the community forum.
Welcome to the community. That was my goal when I started playing at the age of 53. I’m 67 now, and thanks to Justin Guitar (yeah, it’s been around for a while), I can now play lots of campfire and more sophisticated tunes. Well and truly worth the effort.
look forward to hearing more from you
Welcome Patrick!
Nice to meet you, Patrick Welcome!
Hello Patrick.
Welcome to JustinGuitar and this fantastic community. Please take your time to look around and get to know the wider space. View by Categories.
We are a supportive and encouraging group of students and guitarists from across the world. Essentially, we are all here for music and to improve as players. We truly are a ‘community’. Members help and support one another and a friendly, positive attitude underpins this. We hope that all - young or old, experienced or new players - adopt and foster the pay-it-forward ethos that Justin personifies and embedded all those years ago when he started the website and forum.
Also, please make sure to read the Community Etiquette announcement for some important information and guidance.
If you want to record yourself to show your progress and / or seek feedback there is our ever popular Community Recordings section.
Behind the scenes there is a small and dedicated team who work to make the JustinGuitar experience as good as it can be. Check out the Onboarding sessions provided by Fanny. Justin also has a small group of Approved Teachers he recommends for people wanting 1-to-1 lessons to supplement his courses - of which I am privileged to be one.
That is plenty to be going on with. It is a vast community space so if you need help as you find your way around just ask.
Cheers. Richard
