Hello from Robert in Europe, Germany, Croatia

Hi good people, Robert here. I started playing few years ago, alone first, then I found a great Irish guy who taught me. I don’t think I would ever try songs that he taught me alone, I really benefited from him pushing me a bit. Now I have to continue my guitar journey without him, so I stumbled upon this on the internet and decided to give it a try. My Irish instructor says I’m intermediate, I see myself as a beginner though, with so much stuff still out there to learn before I would adopt the term myself. My current focus is the fret board and finding my way around it. I am fascinated by the number of different ways to look at it. Started with pentatonics, then moved to minors. To be completely open, the main reason I joined is, because I saw Justin using the same naming convention for his minor pentatonics, so his Position 1 was the same Position 1 I learned, and that was it for me. Looking forward to be part of the positive vibe I already witness on this channel. My time is mostly spent between Germany and Croatia nowadays. Cheers!

Beware… even with google translate, Rogier can be difficult to follow
I think he might be thought-disordered in his mother tongue

I know right? Coming from a different instrument, you are correct. It really is wild.

I am stoked you found the community, Justin is great and his lesson as well as all the other instructors and are amazing. Lots of resources are avalible. Ton s of cool and encouraging people here on the community site too. Cheak out the live clubs :sign_of_the_horns:t2:. They are sweet.

Hello Robert.
Welcome to JustinGuitar and this fantastic community.
Please take your time to look around and get to know the wider space. View by Categories.

We are a supportive and encouraging group of students and guitarists from across the world. Essentially, we are all here for music and to improve as players. We truly are a ‘community’. Members help and support one another and a friendly, positive attitude underpins this. We hope that all - young or old, experienced or new players - adopt and foster the pay-it-forward ethos that Justin personifies and embedded all those years ago when he started the website and forum.

Also, please make sure to read the Community Etiquette announcement for some important information and guidance.

If you want to record yourself to show your progress and / or seek feedback there is our ever popular Community Recordings section.

Behind the scenes there is a small and dedicated team who work to make the JustinGuitar experience as good as it can be. Check out the Onboarding sessions provided by Fanny.

Justin also has a small group of Approved Teachers he recommends for people wanting 1-to-1 lessons to supplement his courses - of which I am privileged to be one.

We also host regular (virtual) JustinGuitar Community Open Mic events for community members.

That is plenty to be going on with. It is a vast community space so if you need help as you find your way around just ask.

Cheers. Richard
