Hello from Somerset UK

Hi everyone,

I’m John from Somerset UK. A familiar story perhaps? I first bought a guitar (Fender Gemini II accoustic) in college, some 35 years ago. Played for a couple of years, then it lay under the bed until about 3-4 years ago, when I thought I’d really like to give it a go again. After a bit of rubbish poking around on youtube and going through some of my old music books, I happened upon Justin’s website - was drawn in by the structure, the price and how he teaches. Then bought the app, and went from there.
Now have an East Coast (Andertons) LP style electric in electric blue, which I love, and spend most of my time on that.
Currently mooching / plateauing around end of level 3 and start of level 4 - finding the new MatchMySound app a real test (I think I’ve been missing something!)
Would be good to find somebody to jam with in the area - if you’re out there, let me know (or if you’ve got ideas that may help)
Do find, that even when not making the progress, just playing around is pleasure in itself - so glad I took to the guitar again.

All the best

John

Welcome. Seems to be a lot of “ returning “ players. Just mooching is fun though. I have the same guitar ( EC L1 ) in sunburst and like you, really like it.

Welcome, Johnny,
Nothing wrong with noodling but some structured learning keeps us ‘honest’. Also having a guitar you love to pick up play is important too.

Having reached level three, options are there to look more at what interests you musically. Justin’s App is worth a look; I think it still has free trial ?

I live in central Berkshire, with nobody nearby as far as I know, and a few members dotted around the southern counties.

There’s a Community OM online next month, open to all to be in the audience, and there’s some basic criteria to fulfill in order to play … one of which is to attend first in the audience …

Keep it fun … :sunglasses:

Great stuff, welcome to the community
