Hello from Tatiana in Merseyside, UK

Yeah, after I wrote my response, I thought ‘wait a minute, there isn’t a person in England who doesn’t know what Top of the Pops was.’

Welcome to the community Tatiana! I wish you lots of fun!

It’s a very good sign if someone else says you have improved a lot. It also helps a lot if you learn music theory at the beginning. You can also try Justin’s other courses like ear training and transcribing. I also think ear training has a big benefit to it, so I would recommend also doing that.

Hi Tatiana,

I am from Wirral. Good to see someone else local in a similar situation to myself. Keep it up, getting back into guitar is something I’m really enjoying and following the lessons and exercises on Justin Guitar is really helping.

Welcome, Tatiana!
wishing you a great time and lots of succes! :sunflower:

Hello Tatiana. It’s great that you’re playing along with songs and enjoying guitar.
Welcome to JustinGuitar and this fantastic community.

Please take your time to look around and get to know the wider space. View by Categories.

We are a supportive and encouraging group of students and guitarists from across the world. Essentially, we are all here for music and to improve as players. We truly are a ‘community’. Members help and support one another and a friendly, positive attitude underpins this. We hope that all - young or old, experienced or new players - adopt and foster the pay-it-forward ethos that Justin personifies and embedded all those years ago when he started the website and forum.

Also, please make sure to read the Community Etiquette announcement for some important information and guidance.

If you want to record yourself to show your progress and / or seek feedback there is our ever popular Community Recordings section.

Behind the scenes there is a small and dedicated team who work to make the JustinGuitar experience as good as it can be. Check out the Onboarding sessions provided by Fanny.

Justin also has a small group of Approved Teachers he recommends for people wanting 1-to-1 lessons to supplement his courses - of which I am privileged to be one.

We also host regular (virtual) JustinGuitar Community Open Mic events for community members.

That is plenty to be going on with. It is a vast community space so if you need help as you find your way around just ask.

Cheers. Richard

Hi. Thank you! I started with the ear training course. It is going slowly, as I guess one would expect, but it is going ok. The issue – for most of us I would guess – is time. I make sure I play the guitar every day, at least.

Hi Tatiana,
It always makes me smile to see fellow Merseysiders join the Community :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:
Feel free to drop by in person to say hello if you’re ever on the Dee side of the Wirral
Glad you reconnected with the guitar and are enjoying the app, (although I can’t imagine how it’s better than this site)

It’s a small world, Mark,
I have tickets to see Ian Prowse play in the Igloo Hearts’ Blue Lantern Sessions in Chester on the 23rd (I hosted the last one!).
I enjoyed the Ian McNabb interview.
I had to laugh when he mentioned his keyboard player Richard Naiff’s ‘perfect pitch’.
I met Richard seven years ago in Brighton when I was staying in a bnb.
I was making breakfast in the kitchen and a long-haired guy walked in and we got chatting. I was still new to the guitar and bubbling with enthusiasm for all things guitar/music-related and especially Justin’s website. After telling him all about it, I finally asked him if he played any instrument?
A bit of keyboards. Used to play with the Waterboys and still plays with the Icicle Works.
Sigh…
I might go see them when they support Dodgy in Liverpool in October

Edit:

you should also know to take everything @roger_holland shares with a ‘pinch of salt’

You are truly the harbinger of doom, Mr. Coles  :face_with_monocle:

I’m surprised this is not on Dodgy’s fb page/website, and that Ticketmaster are still hustling tickets for the tour…
Still, this diversion has perhaps planted the seed for my next family & friends outing

'ello poppet.

Welcome, my city rhymes with Sandy Eggo.
